Job Title:

BSc ( Hons ), Lic Ac.

I obtained my Professional licence in Chinese Medicine, specifically in Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, which is affiliated with Kingston University, London.

In my practice, I use two different styles of approach. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which incorporates physiology, pathology, diagnosis and treatment, that is based on the fundamental theory of Yin and Yang. Every physiological process and every symptom or sign can be analysed in the light of the Yin-Yang theory. The other Style of approach is Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture, with it’s main emphasis on the practitioner clarifying the client’s particular ‘ Causative Factor’ (CF) Element, which there born with and remains through out there life. This CF Element plays a major part in the overall well-being of the person. It places particular priority on the health of the person’s body, mind and spirit.

The Five Elements are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. Each Element is associated with organs of the body, that may come with various distinctive ailments or deep underlying conditions, and also distinctive personality traits, which will be expressed in a positive or negative manner, depending on the fundamental balance and imbalance of all Elements, but very much emphasis on there particular CF Element. Both styles focus on identifying patterns of disharmony within the bodies energetic system, and seeks to treat the whole person in a Holistic approach rather than a Western symptomatic approach, and therefore treat accordingly with the insertion of needles.

Acupuncture has proven to alleviate symptoms of a wide range of conditions such as:

Mental Health: Stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, emotional instability (anger/irritability, frustration, worry etc) and more.

Neurological: Headaches, migraines, poor memory, CFS/ME, Parkinson’s, MS and peripheral neuropathy and more

Gastrointestinal: Abdominal pain, IBS, poor appetite, diarrhoea, constipation, reflux/heartburn and gastritis, sluggish indigestion and more.

Hormonal: Pre-Menopausal and Menopausal.

Muscular Skeletal: Muscular tension and Joint pain.  Arthritis, Inflammation and stiffness etc.

Dermatological: Acne, eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis etc.

Allergies: Hay fever.

Addictions: Tobacco, pain killers, anti- depressants.

And so much more.

Alongside acupuncture, I also use other non- needling techniques such as:

Moxibustion: Heat is applied applied to a acupuncture point meridian using Moxa (a therapeutic herb) or Heat Lamps to warm and relax the muscles and remove stagnation of Qi and Cold.

Cupping: Glass heated cups create a seal when placed on the skin to stimulate Blood flow to that particular area.

Guasha: Vigorous rubbing of the skin when oil is applied using a smooth appliance. Used for helping the flow of blood and Qi.
